Woman dies in accident

A 20-year-old woman from North Carolina was killed in an accident that occurred at about 9:41 p.m. on March 14. The Seagrove woman was traveling on Needham Grove Road toward Robbins. The road crested into a hill where authorities say visibility is poor. According to police, as the woman's car crested the hill, she drove slightly left of center. At the same time, a 1994 Toyota 4Runner driven by a 20-year-old man from Asheboro approached. The driver hit his brakes, but his 4Runner still moved towards the woman's car. She tried to turn the vehicle away, but it was struck by the oncoming Toyota.

The woman was not wearing a seat belt, and she was found dead at the scene. The driver of the 4Runner was not injured. No information on the speed of either vehicle has been released.

The fatal car accident, according to police, did not involve alcohol. Police are still investigating and will determine whether they will file charges against the 20-year-old male driver. The police department will consult with the district attorney to determine whether charges need to be filed.

For the families of those who have been killed on the road due to the negligence of others, it may be possible to seek a settlement. Settlements usually come in the form of monetary compensation, which can be used to cover medical expenses incurred before death, funeral expenses, pain and suffering and other ramifications of an accident. It may be wise to consult a lawyer with wrongful death and traffic law experience if family members are interested in pursuing a settlement. These lawyers may investigate accident circumstances and determine whether the pursuit of a settlement is feasible.
