A North Carolina woman was taken into police custody after causing a head-on accident. According to the report, the car accident occurred after the 25-year-old driver sideswiped an SUV before colliding head-on with another vehicle.

The driver, who was accused of DUI, was driving a 2001 Altima when she sideswiped a 211 Chevrolet SUV. The 78-year-old man driving the SUV was forced off of the road but sustained no serious injuries. The Altima continued for a short distance before colliding with a 2001 Ford Escort. The 26-year-old driver was airlifted to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.

The accused driver has been charged with DUI and driving left of center. She may be charged with other offenses in the future.

Car accidents caused by negligent or drunk drivers can result in serious injuries. The victims may face extensive medical bills and may not be able to work, resulting in a loss of wages. In addition, the vehicle that was hit may require extensive repairs or may need to be replaced all-together. In these cases, however, the victims are often entitled to compensation in order to help cover these costs.

An experienced North Carolina attorney may be able to help the victim. The attorney will help to establish the sources of liability in the victim’s case. They may use accident reconstructionists to figure out exactly how the auto accident took place and will examine the evidence to find fault with the accused driver. The attorney may also work directly with the proper insurance agencies to maximize the amount of compensation that the victim receives. In the rare event that the case does go to trial, the attorney will support the client by providing a strong representation on their behalf.
